American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 5:30 am–10 pm. This Dairy Queen is not very good. The first time I went, I ordered a medium Oreo blizzard. Whenever the lady at the window handed it to us, she wrapped several napkins around it so we couldn’t really see it, when I start to drive off, I realize she handed me a small, not a medium. There was no one behind me so I backed up and asked if I could exchange it for a medium. The woman responds and says, that is a medium”. I said that it isn’t because I’ve gotten the same thing before from other DQ’s and they have been bigger. She tried arguing with me and kept saying, “This is a medium”. So I asked her what the mini was, and she measured it with her fingers to be about 2cm… That’s definitely WAY smaller than their mini. So I asked to speak with the manager. She slams the window. And we can faintly hear yelling, screaming, and cussing from inside of the restaurant. After about 5 mins a very nice woman hands me a MUCH BIGGER medium and says, “Im so sorry I don’t know why that was such a mess”. So service, terrible. Food was okay, and the atmosphere is almost like shady. Would not recommend.

Have gone here for a while, finally decided to write a review. food is alright. Service was very nice, though. Was given the wrong sauce at first and the guy at second window was quick to fix it and very nice. I partially write this review to contest what a recent review said, a Jeff Elliott I think. I have been to this Dairy Queen a decent bit, some of the time before close. The staff had always been nice, regardless if the fact they were getting ready to close up. The guy they described didn't seem rude at all, he was just trying to have a conversation I think. I had a nephew who worked at that Dairy Queen, so I don't want people to get a bad impression 😂😂

Not sure if manager or who the guy was, but we ordered 6 slushes…no food, no milk shakes, easy..12 minutes before closing and when we got to the window for pick up, he said “thank you..you should’ve seen the looks on all of our faces when we got 6 slushes, 12 minutes before closing!” Being extremely rude! It takes about 1 minute to make a slush! From the time we placed our order to pick up about 5 minutes passed, so we gave them 5 minutes of work 12 minutes before closing! Horrible treatment of customers! Extremely unprofessional!

This was at the 610 E Snyder Dr, Decatur, IL 62526 location around 8:15 on 11/03/25. We decided to grab some late dinner after I got off of work at a very close business. She got the 6pc chicken strip basket and I decided to get the 4pc sweet chili chicken basket. We are BEYOND disappointed in the service. First of all, $31 for the two meals. I get it, inflation and so on. But $31for this??? Barely any fries in either of the baskets. I thought DQ was supposed to be better than McDonalds? Looks to be like they’re not, especially the ones around here anymore. DQ service, especially at this location has gone WAYYY down hill. Someone needs to train them properly or get people in there who genuinely care about their customers.
